Hotel Stadt Freiburg

We had two beautiful late-summer days in Freiburg in Sep 25! Apart from discussing latest news and achievements of the individual research projects, we extensively discussed on-going and future collaborations within the consortium. In addition, in hindsight of a potential second funding period of the research unit, we included a Newcomer Session where potential Newcomers got the chance to present their independent research to the consortium. In total, three applicants presented themselves and their amazing work to the group (Dr. Anne Staehle, Dr. Felix Staehle, Dr. Kira Behrens). Furthermore, we were blessed with excessive sunlight, warm temperatures and great Freiburger hospitality.

Clinical Research Center

Hannover

In a two-day Kick-Off meeting at the Hannover Medical School on the 29th and 30th of August, we officially launched the project! Prof. Dr. Claudia Waskow (Leibniz Institute on Aging, Jena) participated as a guest speaker and held a brilliant talk about her work on embryonic hematopoiesis in the context of aging. In addition, all principle investigators as well as related PostDocs and PhD students presented unpublished data, talked about the necessary steps to achieve general project goals and discussed about future collaborations within the research consortium. Overall, with great success, an extensive focus was put on the superior goal to exploit the full potential of the research unit.
